چکیده

Abstract Introduction Laparoscopic TAP block has been used in various surgical subspecialties to reduce postoperative opioid requirement and hence its side effects. The aim of our study was evaluate the effect laparoscopic bariatric surgery. Methods We performed a retrospective analysis patients who underwent surgery by two surgeons at metropolitan public hospital from January 2019 March 2020. One surgeon routinely (TAP group) with 80ml 0.2% ropivacaine other port-site infiltration (non-TAP either or 0.75% bupivacaine. Patients chronic pain were excluded. Baseline characteristics (age, gender, pre-op BMI, types surgery), usage opioids (in recovery, first 24 hours dosage) length stay (LOS) collected analysed. Results Seventy-nine included this study, which 46 (58.2%) received 33 (41.8%) port site infiltration. Opioid rates lower group: 54.3% (n = 25/46) no recovery 21.7% 21/46) hours, compared 48.5% 16/33) 9.1% 3/33) 24hours non-TAP group. However, there statistically significant difference (p 0.61 p 0.13 respectively) between groups. Mean LOS comparable both Conclusion Our showed non-statistically trend reducing block. Further evaluation prospective randomised controlled trial is warranted.

The Transversus Abdominis Plane (TAP) block: Abdominal plane regional anaesthesia

HISTORY OF THE TAP BLOCK Abdominal field blocks and costo-iliac block have been used in anaesthesia for surgery involving the anterior abdominal wall for several decades. A technique involving multiple injections of local anaesthetic in the abdominal wall was used in the 1980s.1 This technique was improved with a blind landmark technique, via the ‘lumbar triangle of Petit’.2 The clinical effica...

[The analgesic efficacy of transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block].

The transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block is a novel approach for blocking the abdominal wall neural afferents via the bilateral lumbar triangles of Petit. It was described for the first time in 2007 by McDonnell et al. We applied the technique after the original methodology of the authors. We evaluated its analgesic efficacy first 24 postoperative hours of patients, undergoing to surgical an...

Efficacy of laparoscopic transversus abdominis plane block for elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy in elderly patients

Transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block technique seems to offer one of the most efficient methods for a local pain control. Our aim is to demonstrate the effectiveness and safety of TAP block for post-operative pain control under laparoscopic vision in elderly patients during laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The patients aged more than 65 years old, who had cholecystectomy due to symptomatic chol...

Transversus abdominis plane block anesthesia in abdominoplasties.

BACKGROUND The transversus abdominis plane block is a promising approach to the provision of postoperative analgesia following abdominal incision. This effective method blocks the sensory nerve supply to the anterior abdominal wall. The authors evaluated its analgesic efficacy over the first 12 postoperative hours after abdominoplasty with liposculpture in a randomized, controlled, double-blind...
